Variations in fruit and bean characters in seedling progenies of Robusta and Liberica types coffee

Abstract

Variations in 14 Robusta and 20 Liberica progenies were studied. There were significant differences among the Robusta progenies in the fruit and dried bean weights and weight of dried beans from 100 fruits. However. there were no significant differences in the number of beans and the conversion percentages. Significant differences for all the parameters studied were observed among the Liberica progenies. High positive correlations were obtained among the parameters measured for both the coffee species.
