Abstract

The traditional and chemical methods of ratoon clearing were compared. The three chemical treatments consisted of roundup glyphosphate at 3.00 kg/ha. paraquat 0.70 kg/ha and paraquat 0.28 kg/ha + roundup glyphosphate at 0.75 kg/ha. The best chemical treatment was paraquat at 070 kg/ha which produced full scorching for 8l% of the plants and the leaves were easily burnt after 3 weeks.
