Abstract

Genotype by environment interaction (G x E) analysis of the adaptability trial set  (MR206–219) was performed. The analysis was to classify and characterize entries according to their yield stability and adaptability, as well as to group the test environments based on entry yields, and ascertain interrelationships among genotypes and among sites. A total of 15 diverse test entries, which included one check variety, composed the multilocation adaptability trial. The best performing entries based on average yields across sites and in comparison with the checks were identified. The outstanding test entries were MR 211, MR 219 and MR 217. Entry MR 211 showed the highest yield and average stability (i.e. low regression coefficient).
