Abstract

Out of 16 chrysanthemum farms sampled, 15 were found to be infected by Pratylenchus sp. which existed in large populations. Other nematodes found in smaller numbers were Rotylenchulus reniformis, Paratylenchus, Helicotylenchus and Meloidogyne. Chrysanthemum plants with high nematode infestations exhibited few lateral roots, resulting in stunting, chlorosis and small blooms.
