Effect of flooding on vegetative and reproductive growth of groundnut

Abstract

Groundnut, Matjam variety, was subjected to flooding at various growth phases. Results indicated that effect of flooding varied with phases of plant development. The effect was most serious between 42 and78 days after sowing, and less serious before and after this period. Seven days of flooding at 49 and 56 days after sowing can be detrimental to the plants.
