Abstract

The quantity and quality of rice produced by small mills were improved as a result of extensive modification on the existing milling system. About 30%-50% improvement in their production and quality were recorded, depending on the paddy quality and handling of milling equipment. This modification, however, requires capital investment in terms of milling and handling facilities together with proper evaluation and research supports.
