Abstract

Groundnut mosaic virus (GMV) infection of l0-day-old gloundnut plants brought about considerable reduction in the yield. Vinrs-infected plants were shown to produce fewer pods and smaller seeds compared to non-infected plants. Both pot and field trials also showed that an increase ln the percentage of infected plants can result in a signiticant decrease in pod weight, seed weight and total plant weight of groundnuts.
