 Abstract

Natural infection of patch canker was observed on ll of the 13 durian clones in Serdang, Selangor. The 13 clones, including the 2 clones which escaped field infection developed the disease when the stems of these trees were w ounded and artificially inoculated. This indicated that wounding could predispose field resistant trees to infection. There were significant differences in the susceptibility of the clones which were artificially inoculated.
