Abstract

Aflatoxin biosynthesis as greatly increased when 0.7o/o( v/v) CCl4 was incorporated in the beginning even though the growth of Aspergillus flavus was not much influenced. The increase in aflatoxin biosynthesis probably due to the increase in the biotransformation process caused by free CCI3 radical. However, the presence of CCl4 at the end of logarithmic growth phase caused cell destruction and increased aflatoxin degradation.
