Abstract
A study of the pattern of variation of the within bunch components of oil yield was carried out with the objective of improving the precision of the present method of bunch analysis. The results reveal the importance of distinguishing 3 regions of the bunch for purpose of sampling as these 3 different regions contribute very significantly to variation is fruit set, mesocarp and oil content.
