SUMMARY
A study is reported on the incorporation of 'Prolima', a palm oil sludge fermented product (SFP) in layer diets. Three layer diets containing 10, 20 and 30% SFP respectively to replace soybean meal as a protein source were compared to corn-soy diets with or without fish meal supplementation. Dekalb Amer Link brown egg layers were used for this trial for a period of 49 weeks starting from 30 weeks of age. The results indicated that diets containing SFP up to 10% were comparable to the control diet in terms of egg number, percent egg production, average egg mass produced and feed efficiency (feed/egg mass). The presence of SFP in diets did not affect the egg specific gravity, percent yolk, albumen and shell weights, yolk index and Haugh unit
